Yanks Have Interest in Craig Breslow, Tyler Clippard

by Mike D.

According to Nick Cafardo of the Boston Globe, the Yankees have inquired on Nationals reliever Tyler Clippard. Also, Oakland left-handed reliever Craig Breslow has been drawing interest from the Yankees and Red Sox.

Breslow will be featured in a post examining potential LH relief targets for the trade deadline, that will be posted shortly after the finish of today’s game.

The inquiry on Clippard is probably just due dilligence, but who knows with the crazy swarm of rumors & truths that are flying around in the trade deadline period.

This year Clippard is 1-0 with a 1.73 ERA, and a strong 3.6 SO per BB ratio. Clippard is right-handed, and righties hit .207 off him, while lefties hit just .192.
