Jorge Posada DH
Russell Martin C
Brett Gardner LF

A.J. Burnett (0-0, 0.00) vs. Rick Porcello (0-0, 0.00)

This is it if the Yankees want to stay in the playoffs. In a matter of a little while, we will see how Burnett will handle a tremendous amount of pressure. Hopefully, enjoy the game.

By the way, here is Ricky’s Game 4 Podcast Preview. Check it out!

Yankees manager Joe Girardi said that all pitchers are available out of his bullpen Tuesday night except for CC Sabathia.

Even Freddy Garcia, whom Girardi instructed “to get his shoes on.” Girardi said Monday that ALDS Game 4 starter A.J. Burnett will be on a short leash, so it makes sense to have all hands on deck. Rafael Soriano, David Robertson and Mariano Rivera are all fairly well-rested and could be used early if Burnett runs into trouble. Burnett posted a disappointing 5.15 ERA in 190 1/3 innings this regular season and owns a poor 5.67 career ERA in the playoffs. Detroit leads the series 2-1 and can advance to the ALCS with a victory Tuesday at Comerica Park

  1. Let’s Do this. Big game I hope the bats come alive early to give A.J. some support.

  2. Nice podcast Ricky…… I think the Yankees do have something to lose though.

    • Good evening, guys. I’m very positive tonight. AJ can be a calamity most of the time, but there is something in him….a fighter? I don’t know. He is capable of putting up strong numbers. Unfortunately ….after 3-5 innings, it leaves him. Good luck tonight.

  3. 1st and 2nd no out with gardner up….I’d be aggressive and pinch run for Posada right now

  4. Girardi needs to get off his ass and get in the umpires face!!! We are getting screwed by the HP umps all series and he hasnt said a word!!

  5. WOW!! Posada almost prevented martin from scoring on Jeter’s double! Great baserunning by Martin

  6. Lefty batters need to look to go up the middle or left field with these outside sinkers or there will be a lot of 4-3 groundouts to 2nd base.

  7. This is a big inning coming up for AJ.
Yanks got him a 2-0 lead and he needs to go out and keep the momentum going by having a scoreless bottom of the 3rd.

  8. Just gotta say, that strike three call to Gardner was plain and simple garbage. Too high, but Gardner will be ready next time.

  9. Hate to jinx it but I like AJ’s body english tonight. He’s throwing free and easy since the 1st inning…being aggressive and working fast

  10. Arod…Tex…Swish….need these guys to hit tonight.

Arod needs to go back to hitting singles like he was b4 his surgery

Tex has had a better approach lately and I think he’s gonna hit tonight

Swish needs to look to hit up the middle and pull it if its inner half

  11. Everyone seems to love to throw at Teixeira huh? :/

  12. Posada’s gonna rip one here

  13. Porcello vs LH hitters thisyear:

But our lefties are hitless against him thru 4 ip

  14. Ugh that wasn’t good!!!! at least no one was on base.

  15. Darn, the lead is 2-1…come on A.J! Get it together!

  16. I could see that VMart HR coming before he swung.
he can’t let this unravel him now…..keep the ball down and awy from the lefties and get ahead so he can throw the curve in the dirt

  17. anyone else hate this manager interviews during the game. they do pregame interviews post game interviews. leave them alone during the game.

  18. OK.. FOLKS, put your seat belts on. It’s the 4th inning, and AJ is taking us down the Baltimore Pkwy. Good luck.

  19. Good comeback there. 2nd and 3rd time thru the order he needs to throw a lot more curveballs and changeups. I like that Hughes was up quickly.

AJ has to get Aja and Santiago out to start the 5th next inning in front of Demon & Cabrera.

  20. we cannot lose this game i feel i am the only yankee fan in michigan and tigers fans r huge d bags

  21. here we go baby lets keep it going jeet

  22. lol i work with all huge tigers fans and i take nothing but shit all day

  23. terrible bunt by Jeter…that would have set us up nice

  24. Well, we got the run back! 🙂

  25. Big hit by Curtis….have to cash in at least 1 more here…I assume they walk Cano to get to ARod…yup they are. C’mon ARod!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  26. could blow the game open here time for a rod and tex to step up

  27. This is a HUGE AB here. ARod has to come through here.
Don’t try to do too much. We’ll take a sac fly here

Shit call by ump on 1st pitch

  28. just a high pop up thats all i ask lol bring one in

  29. Good job by ARod…..terrible 0-2 pitch by Porcello

  30. time for a tex message to right field

  31. Ugh Tex what are you looking at!!!

  32. That was a great AB by A-Rod. For someone who hasn’t hit a lick he is making very productive outs.

  33. That’s it, I’m calling my cell phone carrier. Apparently my Tex Messages aren’t coming through.

  34. big DP there…great pick by Tex

  35. come on guys more offense now

  36. dont know why but it wouldnt let me post comments anymore under my facebook name so i had to create a wordpress account lol

    • hmm strange sorry about that Drew. if you click the log in on the facebook tag while typing on the comments it should let u log in to that or your twitter account if you have one of those.

  37. still dont feel comfortable with our lead

  38. i dont but its workin with the wordpress so oh well lol i just need yankee fans to talk to lol its hard being a yankee fan surrounded by tiger fans

  39. AJ has been actually great tho, u think if we make it outta this game and series he could replace garcia as our number 3 in the playoffs and we could use a 3 man rotation like we did with cc aj and pettitte

  40. what a catch by Jeter.

  41. hey Drew it thought you last comments were spam so it put them in our spam protector not sure why it did that when your other comments from your facebook login worked. sorry for the mix up.

  42. come on get it to the 7th AJ

  43. not sure if i like them taking out A.J. here (did i just say that) but at least it builds confidence if he would have went south.

  44. Great outing by A.J Burnett. He really came through when the team needed him!

  45. we need to win this game i dont think i can go to wrk tomorrow if we lose

    • ha all the Met fans at work will give me crap. so annoying though as their team is garbage.

    • I feel for you Drew. i think you can go to work with your head held high tomorrow. I live and work in New Jersey which is Yankees and Mets territory.

However, I have about 8-10 guys from Massachusetts who work with me. All prick Red Sox fans. Fortunately, they have NOTHING to say for a while.

  46. Great game by AJ and smart move by Joe to pull him here.

I think I would have gone with Hughes over Soriano though…..hope Sori does the job!

  47. great catch by Grandy….Hope he just got the wind knocked out of him and its not a shoulder injury!

  48. so huge AJ was on today (im shocked) but def what we needed now our bullpen has to go to work and get the ball back to Novacane in game 5

  49. Coke is throwing gas. But I think Grandy or Cano will rip him…..

  50. robby is due for a big hit… along with a rod and tex

  51. Jorge has def been the MVP of the series for us so far, you can’t underestimate experience

  52. Okay, we made it into the 7th! That’s a good sign! 🙂

  53. welcome to the party A-Rod

  54. this is great i would love to see what “papa grande” has to say now? does he still think we wont be going back to new york

  55. Finally, A-Rod’s first hit. 🙂

  56. Finally get Tex and Swish from right side….chance to do some damage

  57. Tex knocked the crap out of that one.

  58. its still hard to think we could have still had ian kennedy could you imagine our rotation then

    • Would be great but Cashman elected to let him go thinking Hughes & Joba would be the better pitchers.

Turned out he may have been wrong but most people favored Hughes and Joba at the time and we did get Granderson in the deal.

    • Kennedy pitches in a crappy division. you never know if his stuff would have handled the American League east.

  59. Might get to se Montero pinch hit for Posada here depending what Swish does

  60. true that but who you think we could have gotten for Joba and Hughes? lol prolly a pretty solid ace

    • yeah but you can’t make every move. I wouldn’t be surprised to see Hughes be traded this off season hopefully after the Yankees resign C.C. when he opts out and then sign C.J. Wilson.

  61. looks like we can rest robertson and mariano

  62. i gotta get going though guys great talking to ya!!! GO YANKEES!!!

  63. I knew we would be in great shape in this series if Leyland went to Coke or Shlereth. Almost all of our hitters are much better vs LHP. ARod is an odd exception but I like to see vs LHP right now because righties are getting in on him with FBs.

  64. another RBI hit for BG

  65. Fish sent ya an email.

  66. Matt, the reason I said they had nothing to lose is because no one expected them to win tonight, even some in the Yankee community. Of course, losing in the first round is a disappointment in general, but that’s the only reason why I said nothing to lose. Detroit will probably go into Game 5 with the same mindset

  67. Hughes just threw that pitch at 94.

  68. Just to let all you guys know. I am taking questions for the Game 5 podcast I will record tomorrow night. Matt, even get the guy who started talking tonight. Maybe, he would like to get involved

  69. you’re truly a excellent webmaster. The web site loading velocity is amazing. It sort of feels that you’re doing any unique
trick. Moreover, The contents are masterpiece. you have done a fantastic process in this matter!

  70. My coder is trying to convince me to move to
.net from PHP. I have always disliked the idea because of the expenses.
But he’s tryiong none the less. I’ve been using Movable-type on a variety of websites for about
a year and am nervous about switching to another platform.
I have heard very good things about blogengine.net.
Is there a way I can import all my wordpress content into it?
Any kind of help would be greatly appreciated!
