Morning Bits: Granderson, Nova, Burnett, Offense, Forbes

Well we got what we needed from A.J. and Gardner had a great game as well as Granderson with two amazing catches. Game 5 will be Thursday.  Back to the Bronx.  Should be a good one.

……and here are your morning links.

* Yankee offense finally breaks out.

* Granderson’s clutch catches saved the season.

* Nova set for game 5 but C.C. available for relief.

* Yankee bats almost make Burnett a footnote.

* The Yankees win the most valuable franchise is the world title given by Forbes.

NOTE: Ricky is putting together another podcast for Game 5 if you have any questions leave them in the comment section please and he will answer them for you.

  1. Ricky who do you think Giradi will go to first if Nova is shaky early?

  2. Much was made about Granderson saving the game with his 2 great catches. They were absolutely huge catches no doubt. If he doesn’t make that play in the 1st inning its at least 3-0 Detroit, AJ would probably implode and get pulled shortly after.

BUT, if you were watching closely, Granderson took a step in first, then went back. And on the second catch he took an indirect route to the ball. Don’t want to take anything away from Curtis but he doesn’t get good reads or take good routes to the baseball.

His great speed and tremendous athletic ability make up for it but as he ages and inevitably loses a step, he’s gonna need to move to a corner. If the Yanks keep Gardner for the long term, they will need to swap the 2 in the field eventually so they should look into this winter and see how Curtis reacts.

    • agreed. i’d rather see Gardy in Center anyway. Let him use his amazing speed to track down the balls. stick granderson in a corner outfield spot. makes sense to me i still can’t believe it wasn’t done this season.
