World Series Game 5 (Open Thread)

The series is now tied at 2 games a piece. The Cardinals’ bats went silent last night.   I would find it hard to believe that they could go silent two games in a row.  We might be seeing a soon-to-be Yankee pitching tonight. Enjoy the game everyone.

Brian Cashman met with Yankees managing general partner Hal Steinbrenner on Monday at Yankee Stadium.

No word from either party on how the talks went, but David Waldstein of the New York Times writes that “things are looking good for him to get his contract done soon.” Cashman’s contract as GM expires at the end of this month, but most expect they should be able to hammer out a new deal without much in the way of drama.

Morning Bits: Torre, Spring Training, Sabathia

Joe Torre is opposed to instant replay despite some calls in the World Series this year. In my opinion I’d rather have it the way it is now.

— After a 16 year hiatus the Mets and Yankees will be playing each other in Spring Training.

Sabathia backs a Manhattan Hooters rival.   We know his love for food so this fits him well.

Have a great day.
