Yankees general manager Brian Cashman said Wednesday that Ivan Nova’s right forearm strain is “behind him.”
Nova left Game 5 of the ALDS against the Tigers with what was diagnosed as a Grade 1 forearm strain, but Yankees head physician Dr. Chris Ahmad has cleared him of any serious injury. Nova, 24, went 16-4 with a 3.70 ERA in 165 1/3 innings this season. He should enter spring training assured of a rotation spot.
