Morning Bits: Kuroda, Prospects
Good morning everyone. Here are a few links on the day….
— Although the Yankees were reported to not be making a bid for Hiroki Kuroda, Wallace Matthews believes they are probably just bluffing.
— Josh Norris of the Trentonian has an array of articles with scout notes on a bunch of Yankee prospects: Jesus Montero, Manny Banuelos, Dellin Betances, Mason Williams, Corban Joseph, Angelo Gumbs, Cito Culver, Branden Pinder, and Bryan Mitchell.
Have a great day!

I hope they are just bluffing but I fear they are not. We’ll find out soon enough I guess. After the holidays it should be time for the “hot stove” to pick up.
BTW, I’m still not at all convinced the Cashman and the Yankees are not feigning interest in Oswalt. I think if his price comes down just a bit to under 8 figures for the 1 year he says he’s looking for the Yankees will make a play for him.
Quite honestly there doesn’t seem to be a lot of teams tripping over themselves to sign either one of these pitchers. It should be interesting if their price drops even just a bit.
sorry should be …feigning a lack of interest.
all these notes about the young guys are awesome. Not thrilled with the reviews of Culver though. ugh.
Matt—-agreed, some nice reviews. However baseball as in life, we believe what we want to believe in, so if you say nice things about that which we want to hear it must be the gospel. Uneducated or even educated opinions are just that opinions. These guys are a crapshoot some with higher upsides than others or development time lines that work or not duh.
morning John. agreed we can’t take one’s opinion and make it gospel. But any review is interesting to me to see what others think of the potential of the young guys. That’s why i like this time of year every site and newspaper will rank the yankee young guys and all the lists will be different.
