  1. About the WSJ article. Don’t know that I particularly agree with much of what the writer wrote about the Red Sox rotation. Right now as it’s presently constructed or anticipated with Bard who has pitched at most about 75 innings in any one season Aceves who pitched minimally in 2010 and only about 110 innings in 2011 and Cook. To assume that these guys can or will be stretched out enough to be effective the entire season as starters is a mistake. Heck, to assume they will even be starters might be a mistake. I just can’t see that group being responsible for 21 wins in 2012.

For the writer to begin his very piece with “… Yankees, Red Sox, and Rays—enter the year with stacked pitching rotations among the best in all of baseball, and they’re still clambering over one another to add more.” For the Red Sox to be in their and described that way cast a shadow on the credibility of the entire article. I just don’t see it.

    Hey, but that’s just me.

  2. Interesting story on If they are able to pull off a trade for a bat that certainly would help. It also would probably get them a better bat then just trying to look for a DH for $1 or $2MM. BTW, I have mentioned recently that I would like them to move AJ. Here is the link:

  3. Another tidbit. The Kuroda signing could be finalized within the next 24 hours, I’ve read.
