  1. looking forward to seeing the box score later today.

  2. Since the Yankee subs are all but set I can see players like Hall, Wise, Maxwell, and Dickerson all hooking up with other major league teams if they are out of options. Some of these guys would start for teams like the Mets.

    • Dickerson isn’t. Since he cleared waivers the Yankees can park him in the minors for part of or the entire 2012 season.

    • Bill Hall might have a chance to make this club. Depending on how Nunez comes back from his hand contusion, hall could be a valuable player. If it comes down to keeping Ramiro Pena or Bill Hall as a backup utilityman, I’d take Hall.

Hall may even be a better fit than Eric Chavez. Chavez is hurt sooo often that you really can’t count on him. Hall looks to be in good confition while Chavez’ injury history isn’t worth his limited upside imo. I’ll be watching Hall closely this ST.

  3. looks like hughes got roughed up a bit. an inning and a 1/3 4hits 2run 1 earned.

    • With the exception of the single Jeter hit in the 3rd inning has he gotten the ball out of the infield in any of his other at bats either Sunday or today?

    • Matt, here is an excerpt from RAB on today’s action by Hughes.

“…Today’s focus was Hughes, who needs a big year to regain some of the luster that wore off last season. The good news? He hit 93 today — multiple times. The bad? He allowed four hits while recording just four outs, reaching his pitch count before his two innings were up. You can take that information any way you’d like, but I hope it’s any way but seriously. There’s too much time left before the season starts to make too much of anything right now…”

      • Yup plenty more games to go in spring training to sound the alarm now. I’m sure Wallace Matthews of ESPN New York will write an article tonight about how Hughes is done.

  4. By the way ONE MONTH from today till the games count for real for the Yankees.
