Morning Bits: 7th inning guy, Rivera, Robertson

Good morning everyone and happy Saturday to you all! Yankees try to take Game 3 of the 4 game set vs. the Royals. Hiroki Kuroda will take the mound. Here are your morning links!

— So we know that David Robertson is the new closer, Rafael Soriano is the 8th inning guy but there’s just one question–whose the 7th inning guy?

— Despite having an ACL tear, Mariano Rivera said that he will be back in 2013. I didn’t think he would have went out that way. Not at all.

— Mariano Rivera might not have to wait until 2013 to come back to the Yankees. Milwaukee Brewers starter Yovani Gallardo tore his right ACL in 2008 and came back the same season. I’d be all for that.

— And his first night as the new closer went pretty well. Robertson didn’t get the save but he struck out the side to give the Yankees a 6-2 victory. Forget Soriano as closer, leave Robertson in. He’s the best we have.
