Kuroda gets pummeled as Yanks fall to Blue Jays 8-1
And I thought it couldn’t get any worse for the Yankees. After getting pummeled by the Orioles the night before, the Yankees were pummeled by the Blue Jays but this time at the Rogers Center.
Hiroki Kuroda went to the 6th inning giving up 7 runs to the Blue Jays as he was affected by the HR ball. 7 of the 8 runs that were scored were from home runs. Sounds like the Canadian version of the New York Yankees to me.
The only Yankees run that scored was a Mark Teixeira RBI single that plated Robinson Cano. Cano had his 300th career double during tonight’s game. Cano also had an E4 after he booted the baseball and extended the inning. There was a blown call at second base earlier in the game when Jayson Nix slid into second. The umpire called him out but when the Yankees went to instant replay, it showed that Nix was safe by a long run.
We could have done what Brett Gardner did and ignore the game completely. He tossed a baseball up and down as he paced back and forth in the dugout. Well, we wish we all could have joined you Gardy.
WHAT’S NEXT: Phil Hughes gets the mound for the Yankees in the series finale of the 2 game set. After the Yankees play tomorrow night, they will come home and host the Reds (who are in New York all week long since they play both the Mets and Yankees.)
