Ibanez, Gurerro Among Interested Candidates in Yankee DH Spot

The representatives for Raul Ibanez & Vladmir Gurrero have contacted the New York Yankees for their DH spot. They join a crowd of candidates trying to get the Yankees attention after the Yankees big trade that sent Jesus Montero to the Seattle Mariners.
The Yankees have also spoken to Carlos Pena, Johnny Damon & Hideki Matsui but the Yankees believe that they only have about $1 million to $2 million to spend on a DH.
The Yankees have originally thought of platooning the role with Andruw Jones & minor league player Jorge Vasquez while also using the role to rest key players such as Alex Rodriguez, Derek Jeter and Mark Teixeira. The representatives for Jack Cust had also spoken to the Yankees but he has since signed a contract with the Houston Astros.
